The thing is, this DOES hold up with boots, specifically. I have a pair of $300 red wing boots I bought 7 years ago that I wear every day for half the year (when there’s snow). I have also bought similar style boots for $100 that didn’t last a year.

In many instances, you’re better off. For instance, if a product that costs twice as much also lasts twice as long, you’re paying the same amount over time.

The Fig Economy@figgityfigs.bsky.social · 2d agoThe other day driving I listened to a local radio station for a while, just to some music on the radio, and it made me contemplate what a *real* loss in serendipity and stochasticity the streaming/on demand era has brought us.
This seems pretty basic to me, but I’m not a lawyer. If someone wants to cook some hot dogs and walks away after light their charcoal grill, they’re still liable if embers from the grill catch something on fire because it’s hot and dry out.

Quite the loophole. I wonder what other crimes are legal as long as you get an LLM to do it?
