Jesus was a refugee, who fled to Egypt to escape King Herod. He praised the Good Samaritan - someone who helped an outsider. He said "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." You can't be a Christian and anti-migrant.

The real solution to helping historians do research is actually pretty simple: give archives more money. Money for conservation, preservation, storage (physical an digital), climate controlled facilities, and staff (paid at a living wage). You don't need LLMs, you need money.

I am frustrated, as usual, especially in this space, by the uncritical amplifying of this “IA vs the bad guys” rhetoric that collapses all the many ways ephemerality, CONSENT, and open access are in conflict with each other in this instance and most others, when it comes to web preservation.
