My last one this week is from the archive. Thanks as always Sheena🤗 #AlphabetChallenge #WeekMforMachinery

Low-angle black and white photograph showing large industrial construction cranes in the foreground. In the background, the modern glass facade of One World Trade Center rises into a partly cloudy sky, flanked by another skyscraper on the right. New York 2013.

Morning #BlueSky ☕️ & welcome to my usual Sunday capture with one of my poems in the Alt. This week please enjoy: “After the Rain” Have a wonderful day friends ☺️ #ECK #Stunday #BNWmacro #ImageAndVerse #Photography #PhotographyOfBlueSky #PhotographersOfBlueSky #ClassicMono #Abstractia #leaves

After today’s picture description, l have written a poem based on this capture.

A striking black-and-white photograph captures three elongated leaves lying against a rough, textured stone surface.

The leaves emerge from a single slender stem, spreading outward like the fingers of a hand. Two point upwards while the third curves gently to the right.

Their surfaces are covered with dozens of water droplets, ranging from tiny beads to larger rounded drops.

In the monochrome image, the droplets appear bright and silvery against the darker leaves, making them the most prominent feature of the composition. Fine veins run along each leaf, adding delicate detail and texture.

The rough stone beneath provides a dramatic contrast to the smooth leaves and perfectly rounded droplets.

Strong light and deep shadows give the photograph a quiet, almost sculptural quality. A simple moment in nature has been transformed into an intimate study of texture, light and water.

Finally, today’s picture is finished with a simple white board frame. And now for my poem…

I call it….After the Rain

Three leaves rest upon the earth,
holding the morning in their hands.
Each droplet catches a fragment of light,
a tiny world suspended in silence.

The stone is ancient beneath them,
rough and weathered,
while the leaves remain delicate,
their veins carrying the quiet story of life.

Nature needs no grand canvas.
Beauty can be found
in a drop of rain,
a trembling leaf,
a moment after the storm.

And for a little while,
the ordinary becomes extraordinary,
the earth glistening,
the leaves breathing,
and the world reminding us
how beautiful it is simply to be alive.

street art #Photography #ECK #StreetArt #Glasgow #StreetPhotography #Lumix

A street photograph framed in a square aspect ratio with a wide white border. On a sloped concrete pavement bounded by a black metal handrail, a woman with short blonde hair wearing a rust orange jacket and wide leg trousers walks to the right. Directly behind her on the off white pebbledash wall, two faint silhouetted street art mural appear to walk in the same direction, creating a layered visual effect. The upper portion of the background consists of a dark, aggregate stone textured wall framed by a thin green and white decorative line.

A black and white perspective photo taken from a moving metro walkway inside an oval, futuristic tunnel. The side walls of the walkway display artwork designed like a public transit map, featuring Dutch and English emotion words along the lines and stops, including 'Grief', 'Dignity', 'Teleurstelling', and 'Blijdschap'. In the distance, two people are walking away toward the tunnel exit.

#BlueSkyArtShow For this wk's #3rdPlace theme, my happy place: the streets in front of cool #architecture, esp. before my beloved #skyscrapers, with my camera in hand. #ClassicMono #StreetPhotography #LightAndShadow #UrbanGaze #Photography #Photographers #BWPhotography #BnW #ECK #GeometricShapes

An upwards-looking, low-angle, vertical black-and-white photograph captures a soaring modernist skyscraper with a complex, geometric glass-paneled facade. The architecture features a stepped design where a wide, grid-like lower structure sharply recedes, giving way to a narrow, soaring tower that climbs dramatically toward the top of the frame. In terms of photographic style, the image uses high-contrast monochrome tones and intense, low-angle perspective to emphasize the building's monumental scale and sharp lines. The striking nature of the building comes from its deeply reflective surfaces, creating strong light contrasts as dark, grid-patterned glass mirrors soft white clouds, juxtaposing rigid industrial engineering with the organic movement of the sky.

#BlueskyArtShow #3rdPlace One of my favourite places is our local reservoir

A photo looking out over Elton Reservoir in Bury one wintery morning last December.
There is a thin blanket of mist rolling over the far end of the reservoir and is a soft pinkish grey.
There is a red buoy floating in the still water of the tree lined reservoir.
A wonderful place to escape everyday life

Mighty Yellow for #AlphabetChallenge theme of #WeekMforMachinery #EastCoastKin #ECK #photography #Belfast #docks #crane #HarlandandWolff #industry #maritime #history (iPhone camera)

Photograph taken in the Harland and Wolff area of the docklands in Belfast. Stuck my phone between the sturdy metal railings to get this. Image shows a huge yellow crane standing tall with a low level brick building below. Blue sky and clouds overhead, and hills in the distance.

The Titanic was built in this area. Maritime engineering ongoing but also home to the brilliant 'Titanic' museum, and HMS Caroline. Always been drawn to docks, wherever I am in the world.
