It is impossible to avoid the conclusion that hosting US military bases while the US is using them to illegally attack your neighbours makes you less secure not more. Security and peace in West Asia requires permanently removing the bases.
It’s cool and not at all disturbing that tech oligarchical fascists own both political parties and so there’s this almost complete hush about the damage they’re doing and the need to regulate and the apocalyptic economic and climate and democratic harm they’re planning on doing.

Israel is not a democracy. Millions of Palestinians live under Israeli military occupation with no political rights whatsoever. Israel is an apartheid state, and has been for decades whether Netanyahu has been in charge or not.
Israel is occupying more of Lebanon than Russia is occupying of Ukraine. Israel is destroying every single building, ethnically cleansing the whole place so they can steal it for themselves. Not only is Europe silent on this, it is still sending weapons to make it happen.

This is exactly why language matters: “women were given the vote” frames equality as a gift from men, instead of hard won political power extracted through organized resistance. Nobody gave women anything. Women fought, marched, strategized, endured violence, went to prison and died for it.
