What people thought of 343/Halo Studio’s releases and their excitement for an Activision Halo shouldn’t overshadow the fact hundreds of devs just lost their jobs. Microsoft’s uncompromising management and hideously limiting contractor policies did this, not “lazy incompetent DEI” devs.

Nah hold up. Gay men are more willing to date bi men than... BI men are willing to date bi men??? I'm convinced I'm reading this wrong. There's a social construct I'm clearly forgetting to take into account. The data must've been typoed. Bit flip in the N64. SOMETHING. That cannot be right wtf

Well, as a surprise to no one #Cara has been scraped again!. Another crook taking what’s not there’s. The damage this is doing to the platform both physically and financially is huge. The #GenAI movement is an absolute curse.

I left Twitter in 2023, when I realized that Elon's changes had made the site useless for me. I had a half million followers, but his new algorithm drove my engagement numbers down to nothing. I wasn't actually reaching anyone. I was just providing cover for Nazis. So I left. You can too. Honest!

I haven’t been blind to the steady enshittification of Elon’s Twitter, but I’ve been telling myself that I still had a big platform — just under a half million followers — and the growing strength of misinformation on the platform meant I had a duty to stay and push back against it.
Except, as I slowly realized, I don’t have a big platform anymore. Engagement on all my posts is down dramatically under the new system, and a post that would’ve racked up a thousand RTs immediately is now lingering for days with a dozen or so.
I think my fellow (former) big accounts there need to realize that we’re experiencing a bit of a phantom limb syndrome. We still have a big number of followers, but they’re not actually seeing what we post and we’re not remotely having the impact that we once did (or at least thought we did).
Again, all we’re doing is giving our personal seal of approval and a sense of legitimacy to a place that’s rapidly becoming an alt-right hangout of grifters and grievance artists.

"Musk’s meddling in the site’s algorithm to suppress certain kinds of posts and elevate others is well documented. So if your anti-fascist posts on X are still getting views, it’s either because these posts are so toothless as to escape Musk’s notice, or because they are in fact useful to him."

"Indies will save us" No! YOU WILL SAVE INDIES! Go leave a review for that neat indie game you like, share the trailer for an upcoming game you're anticipating, tell your fave developer they did a good job, go tell people about such and such game that's just come out, you can make a difference!

Another day another person saying "XYZ app is too expensive/transitioned to an AI first company/literally rebranded to NaziLovers!" And then immediately saying "so can anyone recommend the next place that'll do this in two years?" Be fr y'all there is better out there

You don't need much - a decent computer, layout software, a laser printer, and a basic time/space machine. I scour news sites for good news, then write them up, design my zine, print it out, and send copies to my subscribers, a month ago. Gives them a bit of hope, something to look forward to.
