I've introduced a player order card into Poll & Write Clacton and it worked really smoothly at playtesting tonight. It's not strictly necessary but because it's physically integrated into the process of a turn it was really getting used and helped to smooth out the player order. Very pleased. 🎲✂️

Poll & Write Clacton: the Binface By-election in play with pieces on the paper board. The card has a die on it – this is the shared and at the end of a turn all dice are rolled, and the card is flipped – combining this action as a bit of a ritual means it gets used and it is a useful reminder of a slightly complex player order

Progress report: Playtests last night went very well – some ideas to try and a great quote: "it's meaty for such a simple thing" (thanks Belal!) Next playtest tomorrow night at Chance & Counters – will iterate this evening. Kickstarter page is awaiting Kickstarter review. BGG page is up!

People talk about Creative Freedom but limitations demand more creativity than absolute free rein. Even if that’s simply the limitations of medium. This is the main reason big budget movies usually have some of the weakest stories.

I submitted my first game to this and the feedback made me realise it had strayed too far from the original intent. But although I shelved that game, it taught me the key lesson that you have to have guiding lights for your game design.
