I've lately gotten much more comfortable with the idea of having an RPG stat named "intelligence." I think the issue is more about making it inborn/racialized/etc than about the notion that two individuals could have different levels of analytical/critical thinking ability.

I love OSR and B/X but I wish it wasn’t so full of white dude old-heads. Like, no offense, but it would be nice to know more people closer to my age/demographic who like that style of game in my local area

if you have any interest in sword world before the kickstarter hits, check out the fanreddit, they have a deal with the publisher that their translations can stay up Until they get around to officially adapting the content in them so the core books will be taken down relatively soon

i like to play red alert 2 skirmishes as the french and install a grand cannon on the enemy's doorstep "but you can't build that far away from your own base" that's why you daisy-chain a string of power plants along the entire length of the map, idiot

I need to be more free with my unhinged poasting, I've had one in the chamber for a couple years now about how we were probably less than 5 years away from wellness grifters saying it's unnatural to wipe your ass, but I didn't pull the trigger so I can't really brag about being vindicated

my GMing principles: 1) Scenarios, not stories 2) "I don't know, *can* you?" 3) Maintaining an accurate game state is more important than looking like I don't make mistakes 4) Clarity and reminders are better than gotchas 5) As with any game, clearly announce your plays.

my GMing principles: 1. Just tell people stuff 2. Just ask people stuff 3. Be fully 25% meaner than you think necessary (50% if you're naturally a weenie) 4. Be 50% more generous than you think necessary 5. Never say what they "could've done" after a session, especially not if they directly ask

I am still facing $500 in past due bills. I can accept help by PayPal: elderkitsune@kitsunecg.com (@elderkitsune) Or by zelle: ianwaprice@gmail.com I have tried to get work, but my disabilities and odd work history plus bad luck have prevented it.

All that's required for a post to accurately be characterised as your "quick thoughts" on its topic that it was quick for you to write. Whether it's quick for anyone else to read is 100% their problem.

People don't want to just do what they enjoy, they want to know they're "normal." If something they're not into becomes common enough, then they're no longer perfectly aligned with normalcy, and their moral worth is threatened. Ban it to reset normalcy to what it was when they were aligned with it.

it’s incredibly revealing when someone sees something they don’t like, something they can easily abstain from and face almost no negative effects from, and their impulse is to ban it for everyone.
