So, with the additional layer of new EU complications would anyone be able to explain to me why print on demand wouldn't be a viable approach to selling ttrpgs in the EU. This is not me expecting it to be viable, just wanting to understand the full sitch (and be able to explain it to others)

Raise the Colours Oxfordshire organiser Ben Cullen head-butted a highways worker after police were called to McDonalds in Benson where highways staff were attempting to remove flags from lamp posts; Highways staff now wear unbranded PPE, work in unbranded vehicles, wear face coverings to hide their identity, and do not travel alone for fear of attacks; Highways staff working on streetlight maintenance, not flag removal, have been spat on and abused by RTC supporters; Cullen and his partner Trudy Wells posted the office addresses and phone numbers of highways depots online, leading to comments suggesting “hanging council workers from those same lamp posts”; RTC Oxfordshire fixed trackers to the vehicles used by highways staff, then used this to find out their home addresses – which have been published online, and repeated to staff with threatening messages; Highways depots now have to remain locked at all times; A highways contractor’s sponsorship of a children’s football club is being rethought after concerns that children could be targeted.

Your reminder Rod Liddle not only said he couldn't have become a teacher because he "could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids" in The Spectator, but he also wrote laws banning child pornography are "absurd" in The Guardian. Abhorrent.

Yeah this is bullshit. The issue is that many people have been priced out of any of the higher quality goods and that many companies deliberately push the cheaper disposable ones. Also most examples of higher quality in contemporary consumer goods aren't longevity but shit like gamer lights.

I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.

The TOS being so strict that they control you offsite is the problem; sites like Patreon and Kofi have offsite clauses too. The social criminalization of the suggestion that somewhere you might be doing nsfw is a problem. It's branding a person as obscene and we need consumers to stand up for us

My hot take on the Zack Polanski thing is that it's not a problem. Like.. it's 2026, I think we're past the point where politicians have to be perfect media bastards and should actually believe in shit. I think that right now, it's not even uncouth, it's not a gaff. It's just fucking fine.

Ferne is being very thoughtful here. At @uklta.bsky.social, being sci-fi/modern LARP we have the issue that a lot of our antagonists are human. So we do get "generic baddies to mow down" a lot but also times where players go to great lengths to avoid this, quite unexpectedly.
