Fun Fact: Because Magic: The Gathering cards are randomized in booster packs, Wizards of the Coast CANNOT participate in the secondary card market for out-of-print cards because, if they do, they can fall afoul of gambling laws in many states and countries.
Things that have been said to me this week, AGAIN: "Wizards of the Coast doesn't reprint the Reserved List because they're greedy and want us to keep paying too much for luxury vintage cardboard." Which...no.
Just crossed the terminal: Microsoft disclosures suggest that OpenAI is about 70% of AI sales! If only someone had said something
Analysts estimate that 70%+ of Microsoft, Google and Amazon's present and future AI revenues are from Anthropic and OpenAI's compute spend and model sales. Outside of two unsustainable AI labs, demand barely exists, and they've massively overbuilt capacity. www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-deman...
british people legally can't talk about their culture of elite pedophilia because they don't have freedom of speech. that's not a right they have. and what speech her undying majesty does permit is subject to prior approval by jo terf.
Americans really don’t get to be talking like this anymore
Wait, hold up, One Night Only, the rom-com set in a dystopian society where pre-martial sex is outlawed 364 days a year, ends with a character saying “Maybe the fascists were right about this”? Christ on a bike. Well, that killed any interest stone dead.
THIS IS WHY!!!! WE CALL!!! GREAT JOB EVERYONE 🩷 KOSA did pass the house but remember the senate has a conflicting version. Keep calling, it matters!
SCREEN Act, which would have required mandatory age-verification for sites (like this) that allow "material harmful to minors" failed to pass out of committee after thousands and thousands of people called their Senators. More work ahead!
AI added a pit trap to my writing program that I would otherwise not have to deal with. It has only made things worse for me, directly and personally, even while I actively avoid ever using AI for anything
The writing program ive used for ten years added ai "help" functions last year. Occasionally I accidentally click on it and it tries to add on to or rewrite stuff I already wrote. If that vanished tomorrow, I wouldn't have to stress about accidentally undoing my own work with a misclick.
Guys like this don’t realize that they are the freak
"Grumsh is the orc god, who is X, Y, and Z" is not how religions work - "these orcs are Grumsh worshippers, who believe X Y, and Z" is.
A short musing today about religion in fantasy worlds, childhood, statues, fish trophies, The Chicago Bulls, pancake breakfasts, and a dog named Scott. Hope you like this break from the usual. www.explorersdesign.com/religious-by...
Religious by Design
Religion in fantasy worlds, games, and walleye trophies.

The challenge that pretty much every secular designer has not overcome is that religion is rarely, and only temporarily, top-down. It is maintained, cultivated, and shaped by its believers.

yup. unrestricted internet access is what allowed me to learn who i am, while being stuck in an environment that was extremely hostile to the idea. its also what made me who i am, in a way, and i don’t have a single regret about it either. it’s what saved me from becoming a bigoted idiot, really.
this isn't very popular to say, but for me personally, it was good that i had unrestricted internet access when i was a minor. i was aware of what i was doing and enjoyed it. i don't look back on it and go "well that was a mistake", i look back on it and wish i could do it for the first time again
Business Elite Access Shredding is thing I didn’t know I loved… until now
New York City’s business elites are long accustomed to direct access to City Hall, where even Democratic mayors felt the need to court the city’s wealthiest and most influential corporate leaders. That access is getting shredded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Please help my friend and immensely talented artist get a very needed MRI. Our country is broken so let's help each other as best we can 💕
Alright, it was suggested to me that I actually crowdfund the out of pocket cost for the lumbar MRI since my insurance keeps denying the day before the appt even w/ it as an important order. I will have more info in the replies as well. I was honestly hesitant but... ko-fi.com/portaltohades
All skeletons initially look the same and they don't recover the ability to talk until you're several hearts deep, so you have to infer what kind of villager you're recruiting purely from their associated environmental storytelling skeleton clues.
Town-building sim set in a post-soulslike milieu where you recruit villagers by prying environmental storytelling skeletons off of giant spikes and rehabilitating them.
the bullies at school keep making me squeeze through narrow gaps so that they can seamlessly integrate cutscenes into gameplay without a loading screen.
YouTube recommending some random influencer doing a dramatic reading of one of my own Tumblr posts to me for the fifth time today like, okay, technically you're 100% correct that the content of that video is congruent with my demonstrated interests, but the thing about that is
You actually don't have to do the "well, you know, I disagree with MAHA but they're right that there are real problems with The System" thing. That's a concession you absolutely do not have to make.
