I need some other trans guy/transmasc person to talk to me bc I've been feeling like there's a rise of jokes about men getting pregnant lately, all made in a way that feels super mocking and dehumanising honestly, as if the idea of a man getting pregnant is so egregious it becomes hilarious or smthn

yes Shein is shit and you shouldnt be buying from them but when are we gonna stop acting like Killstar isn't fast fashion either. A "Shein goth" is bad but at this point I think a "Killstar Goth" is even worse. At least Shein doesnt hide the fact that its fast fashion that steals from artists idk

idk if I'm ready for dandadan anime s3 cause I have a feeling everyone will call Vamola Okarun's love interest when it is pretty fucken explicit that Momo is the great warrior she wants to marry idk

open and honest hating on johnny depp feels very much like a breaking my silence moment bc I DON'T FORGET how fucking mysoginistic and honestly straight up disgusting to domestic violence victims in general SO MANY OF YALL were during the whole trial. It's been three days and I still think about the

been seeing so many takes like this lately, and in all honesty my genuine feeling is why didever believe an alcoholic that has DECADES worth of pop media digs about how fucking rude and hard to work with he is, over the woman who divorced him in the first place

youtube video thumbnail and title that reads "Why I no longer believe Johnny Depp" by user Sullivan Sweeney (The Crow FKA Piper Sweeney)

It's also true that the American political system was designed, explicitly, to perpetuate minority rule by an elite. The founders were, by and large, elite, wealthy land speculators, merchants, and enslavers. They feared majority rule because their wealth depended on them owning land and people.

Strip away the "economic anxiety" and "traditional values" and you're left with people voting for a monster because the monster promised to eat the people they believe must be eaten. The cruelty is not a side effect of their politics so much as the glue that holds their entire worldview together.

The "duped voter" narrative is a comforting myth. If only we had better messaging. The reality is tens of millions of voters looked at a platform of mass deportation, ethnic cleansing, state violence, and the dismantling of civil rights, clearly understood it, and said, "Yes, that is what I want."

Americans suffer from a desperate need to believe in the inherent goodness of the American electorate--the idea that a voter in 2024--after nearly a decade of unfiltered, widely broadcast, deeply fascist rhetoric from Donald Trump--was simply "tricked" by a Facebook algorithm or a Fox News segment.

We aren’t using this shit in secret and lying about it to our friends’ faces. We hate it. We hate it with every bloody muscle fiber, every tendon, every cell of marrow The machine is disgusting and we yearn to break it

I have actively, knowingly used an LLM chatbot precisely once in my entire fucking life and it was to confirm that it was trained on my work without me receiving any compensation I do not think the visceral revulsion that every author I know expresses toward generative AI is merely performative

Maybe I'm wrong, but I do not believe most published authors are using AI in their work beyond things like grammar checks or research. Some do, sure. But I talk to published authors almost every day and very few of them use LLMs beyond that in their work. Why would they? thewalrus.ca/new-york-tim...

we all know that authors are using AI now, to various extents, and will use it more and more as the technology improves and as author AI skills improve. But they will be required to swear that AI was not used for anything beyond a smattering of research and some spelling and grammar checking.

on the topic of kuroshitsuji ship discourse, you'll never convince me that sbgrll is the superior "age appropiate Sebastian ship" bc, like, Bard and Mei Lin are literally right there
