In the fall I shared about one of the most painful experiences of my academic career, which was having an editor ask me to revise perceived political content in a paper that had been accepted for publication. In my last communication with the journal, I told them we would not make the changes.

As #AERA2026 approaches, here’s my schedule! Excited to be co-organizing a symposium on peer relations & motivation, including one of my dissertation papers examining how peer relations shape students’ math motivation over time. Looking forward to the conversations in LA!

New publication! 🤓 This experience sampling study examines how motivational regulation and cost predict students’ momentary motivational conflicts and emotions.

🎓 Today, I had the chance to speak with future teachers and researchers at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Education about why and how to prepare for graduate studies. It was truly special to return as a speaker to the faculty I once graduated from!
