When you're a very famous person who brought nothing but joy and kindness to the world, someone who actually used their fame and wealth to benefit others, the world mourns your death. That's how you do it, that's how you live a life. RIP Dolly Parton.

Who's this fella trying to convince us he knows what emotions are? #TOTP
Cycling people. Can you point me at any research - either academic or surveys - which looks at the gender split in cargo bike usage? Ideally UK but also Europe is good. Thank you!
Diane having to go through the pretence of laughing and pretending what a desirable fella he is because it's easier and safer than telling him to fuck off.
I hate, hate these pervert glasses. Listen to this guy interrupting the filming of Cunk on Cinema. What an entitled dick.
According to my 1999 diary I took a day off work and watched the eclipse through a pair of £1.99 glasses while sipping a bottle of commemorative spring water.
Reminder to folk in Iceland and Western Europe. I've created a live earth viewer that will let you dry run next weeks eclipse. Click the Eclipse option, drop a pin at your location and then see a timeline of how much the sun is occluded. 🔭🌞🌑🧪 earth-clock.onemonkey.org
Bluesky is not a "#TOTP bubble". It's just one of increasingly few public spaces where fan's of The Hitman and Her get called out, and if that makes you uncomfortable, you need to think about that.

You're not having a good time at a festival until you're singing the song from the Pepto Bismol advert are you

This has really pissed me off, if you're in the area and can afford it go and give the cafe owner some money to help fund the kids meals. And if he refuses buy yourself a nice coffee and tip him as much as you can. Fuck Reform taking food from kids in need. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Half the planet is having a massive fight about how to correctly interpret an Ancient Greek poem but go ahead, close some more humanities departments.
This is such sad news. Ronnie Le Drew published his autobiography through Unbound and was very supportive of his fellow authors. May he rest in peace.
Absolutely gutted to learn that Ronnie Le Drew has passed way. I met him and Zippy a few years ago, and he could not have been nicer. Everyone knows him as being creating Zippy, but he also worked on Muppet films, Little Shop of Horrors, The Sooty Show and more. RIP, Ronnie.
Historian friend was reading a civil war era letter in an archive, the letter said “In this envelope I include my smallpox scabs” and sure enough there they were. Had to call CDC for a hazmat team.
I was watching one of the many recent programmes about The Odyssey and the presenter commented that Homer never describes the sea as being blue. Am I right in thinking there wasn't actually a word for 'blue' in Ancient Greece? It's a loooong time since I did the OU's A295 Homer: poetry and society!
Two people tried to enter a screening of The Odyssey without buying tickets after hiding inside a miniature model of the Trojan Horse. 😂😂😂
