This is called a ‘hudd’ and was used in the 18th century for the priest to stand in when conducting graveside services in wet weather. The Wingfield hudd is one of just two in East Anglia. There's another at Walpole St Peter in Norfolk. #History #HistoryMatters
'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)
That "men should be allowed, without judgement or consequence, to do an amount of harm to women and girls that I personally deem acceptable" seems to be a genuine opinion still held by too many people in the year two thousand and twenty six is incredibly grim

This bat is the illustrated equivalent of all of those blep cat photos on the internet, just there to keep the bored clerics entertained.

Two things. As with any newspaper headline, if a TV programme asks a question, the answer is without exception no. The second is that ADHD drugs work because people with ADHD react differently to stimulants to the rest of the population. It's not just in their head but their bodies too.
Channel 4 has announced documentary “The Great ADHD Myth?” It “seeks to determine whether ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental disorder, or a social construct.”
christ if that’s not a metaphor for our times
For all those who think that neurodiversity is a pesky modern innovation, I'd like you to meet my great-great-grandfather John Jenkins. 🧵 To start with, he was an engineer, and a very successful one, and his only hobbies "work and the affairs of the town".

Kevin, is that you?
Solitary brother Is there still a part of you that wants to live? Solitary sister Is there still a part of you that wants to give?
There is one significant factor missing from this, and it is unpaid care work (predominantly done by women). And part of the reason it exists is because social care in its other forms is poor or unaffordable.
The hill I will die on is that this is not a major problem. Right now, people self-insure. There is no market to insure against this risk and trust me insurers would readily create one if there were an appetite for one. And people are broadly correct about this. 1/5
After three weeks of heat, we are all here right now. Apologies for the quality.
There is a petition to ban disposable barbecues in the UK, and I support this move. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/77...

I saw an interview with a park ranger who was asked "Why can't they build bear proof dumpsters?" His reply was perfect: "There's a considerable overlap between the smartest bears and the dumbest people."
This morning I realised that beanageddon is imminent.
Oddly, I gave it to myself, from the charity account I was then running. I got that one by asking for help elsewhere, can't remember how!
Tomorrow is "Shoutout the Person Who Gave You a Bluesky Invite Code" Day. It was a cool time for cool people to drag other cool people here.
Larry laid his mouse in front of the press to be photographed. Lest you ask, this is a real photograph via the Press Association.
Disposable BBQs are the work of Satan. Please sign if you are able to
Please sign and share. They're a fire risk, they damage the ground and often become litter after they're owners have finished with them. We want the Government to introduce a nationwide ban on the sale of single-use disposable barbecues. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/77...
True story. I was in A&E today and eavesdropped a nurse asking an older patient who'd had a fall most of the questions you'd expect. What month is it? Count backwards. Etc. Notable exception? She didn't ask her to name the PM.
