Minor complaint: Every time I show Freedom Planet Architect to people IRL, their first question is *always* "You will sell it, right?" Them beleiving I hadn't already thought about that speaks more to their naivity about game dev than mine. (And no we're not selling FPA dear Lord.)

This measure is sadly necessary, but much welcome. It's so refreshing to read the Godot Foundation's educated understanding of what AI can't be trusted with (i.e, anything more than auto-complete.) Thank y'all so much for keeping Godot on-track. I can't wait to use it for a future game myself! 💙

I need to redo the stage layout for Taishan Mountain, but I've finally fixed the runaway NPCs gimmick: They display their text like everything else in FP1 does, instead of with the slower NPC dialog box. Most of the time, the dialog box didn't finish scrolling through text before disappearing, lol

It's a simple change, but feels more natural. While coding our most recent cutscene, I realized there was a way to also have NPCs stop moving their mouths after the text is done scrolling. Have a look ^ v ^

it's funny to read the "kids don't like old games because they look like doo-doo" spiel again because in my experience as both former kid and present uncle, incuriosity is not a thing kids are famous for having that's more of problem with adults.

More thoughts about the fan game's Spade and Torque campaigns We can still squeeze in Spade. His gameplay is already well-tested and works alongside the framework for the girls campaign. (And he only needs 3 new tile sets + bosses + gimmicks.) A Torque prologue however, needs a different approach.

I recently pecked at code for my next game, and ported over SMA's NPC system. While expanding it to meet the game's needs, I realized it's easy to extend the NPCs This means with some work, I could remove the 2 page limit for NPC dialog in the editor, and allow player characters to talk back! ^ v ^

The amount of buzzwords and vitriol I see thrown around, the aversion to anything transgressive or "icky," the strange, prudish response to anything remotely mature... When I was growing up, the internet was being used mostly by adults. Now, it feels like it's all children. It's bizarre.
