Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

mario has 5 "sensor pixels" used for physics... his feet pixels check for solid ground to land on, of course. the side pixels check for walls, and eject him outward. the head pixel checks for bonking against a ceiling. if his head misses a block but his side enters it, he gets nudged sideways

EYES UP!! if you wanna help make a game happen that's part sonic adventure, part klonoa, part banjo, and all smooth, this is your chance! back tricky on ks! this is a game i've had the privilege of playing in-dev builds of as part of the aqualounge roadshow, so i can vouch for its spirit and style!

started watching the bakshi directed seasons of the 60s spiderman cartoon & every so often there will just be a killer shot someone managed to throw their whole pussy into despite all the production limitations

Peter Parker, doused in shadow, at the docks at night. he is leaning on his knee and looking out into the water. the docks and sky are rendered with cool tones of green, blue, and violet in watercolor

The vibe coded recomps are scary to me because more and more people are spreading them around before they can be properly investigated. It's only a matter of time before malware is put into one of these disguising itself as a mario 3 recomp and making headlines.

Some highlights include: - Being able to walk past trainers and even the final boss. - Puzzles breaking, blocking basic game progression. - Music being broken and missing instruments. - Absurd amount of graphical glitches. - Rock Tunnel not actually being dark at all so you don't need Flash.

Kotaku parading that garbage "recompilation" Generation 1 Pokémon project is genuinely upsetting. I was hoping the communities would reject vibe coded garbage, but these people are now intentionally hiding the usage and even lying that it's hand-written to peddle their slop onto others.
