I see a lot of very smart people saying stuff like “we have to acknowledge AI is getting better and it’s not going away” to which I always ask who’s paying for it? Because there’s two eventual scenarios.

I am exasperated with people accusing programmers of "gatekeeping" programming. We were practically dragging people through the gate. Do you know why a mindless LLM can tell you so much great programming information? It's because we've been sharing that information for free online for decades.

"Don't make your own engine" is a lie propagated by Big Engine. You should absolutely make your own engine, just tailor it to your own game. Your game doesn't need 52 thousand combinations of shaders. You don't need state of the art lighting. Just put the pixels in the bag bro and call it a game.

I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses
