Republicans have made their election strategy very clear: 1) Islamophobia 2) transphobia 3) blatant lying 4) cheating / suppressing votes 5) throwing endless dark + corporate $$ at all the above When I see Democrats HELPING them on 1 & 2 - or barely mentioning the rest - I want to break bones.

Emailed the author about it and she specified it's different from SdB's because of some minor wording and suggested that it's ~possible~ AD was paraphrasing SdB. Sure, think you just wanted to whistle to some dogs with a quote from one anti-porn book before launching into your own.
really crazy to open a pop feminism book a friend recommended only to find an Andrea "All Men Are Born Rapists" Dworkin quote opening the introduction. and not only that, but it's a very famous quote by Simone de Beauvoir misattributed to Dworkin.
the whole of social media is a rage machine and brother i'm furious
This was provocative bc fascists are always saying that their worldview is "natural" and anything else is naive or deviant. A main reason they love ancient Greece & Rome is that it allows them to point to ancient history to say “this is how things really are/should be.” see my "White Pedestal" 1/
Since I am being called "so fucking dangerous" let's walk through what my argument and its evidence actually is. First, I am not saying fascism, the ideology, is ancient (it isn't) but that the emotions which fuel it are: fascism is ancient (pre-historic!) emotions colliding with modern society.
I'm not engaging any more with non archaeologists who refuse to cite a *single* study that shows widespread evidence for war and fascism/ authoritarian rule in the ca 400,000 ish years pre agricultural revolution and millions of years before... b/c they don't exist. 0 evidence. We were peaceful.
Damn fascism is a part of human nature? Guess someone should have informed the last 300,000 years of humans that they could have been fascists the whole time rather than just the last hundred years.
I want to expand on this in a short thread. Fascism sucks. It is also not going away: it is an effectively permanent part of modern representative politics because it is an effectively permanent part of human nature. We have to be prepared to push back against it, basically forever.
There’s about a 20-year period between 1995 and 2015 where actors from the 90s got 20 years older

Ngl every time I see a MTG crossover card I can't help but to think it's the lamest game ever made. Reddit slop.
In thoughts of the visions of the night, I saw long rows of angels in paradise, each with his hands in a jar of spermaceti.

I always like thinking about: what is the oldest object you regularly use, the oldest thing you're using in your normal everyday life
Should have posted this before, but I'm going to have two (2!!!) poems in the Fourth Bullshit Anthology this fall! Super excited about it :) Both are very NSFW so don't expect me to post them when it's published lol
this is obviously a hyper-conservative project but honestly at the national level there's a broad bipartisan consensus that the only way to be "apolitical" and "neutral" is to be a white cishet culturally conservative christian nationalist who loves israel and fears gender affirming care for minors
I've been collecting gear/materials for fieldwork and Ribbit decided to help me test my new soil book. I'd say she's firmly within pretty much all of the 10YR range, with a few splashes from the 5YR range 🧐
We used AI to fuck up jerseys we had been making fine for 20 years
Teams have to wash and steam #WorldCup shirts to remove shoulder bulges. "Nike boasted about the use of 'computational design'… driven by performance data that incorporated elements of AI to work alongside the company’s designers as they crafted the kits." How could they even ship these?! Shame.

You ever see a post from a random and just know they're really normal about non-white people? I bet you she's not racist at all, if she thinks, uh, cutting your food up before you eat it "denotes a breakdown in civilisation."
