I set myself a task to buy something odd from TEMU every month and this is October’s, a tea towel bearing this wise saying from Bob Mortimer…

Spoonie, occasional National Trust monk and elf. All views my own unless shamelessly stolen. She/Her. This is a trans and LGBTQA+ safe space, and terfs are not welcome here.
This was my Facebook memory for today - That time I got a "Percy Pig Slushie" that looked disturbingly like meat paste. (Paging @ricardoautobahn.co.uk and @philfletcher.bsky.social ... the lid stopped me getting it down me face)
Inexplicably Noel Edmonds' 1980 annual had a two page spread about pets. Nevertheless, we found it entertaining. In full, read along with Noel: youtu.be/gef6LUf8rmY
You know, you can just use a different phrase
Spent the afternoon watching Project Hail Mary in 4DX, and now want all films to be like that, please!
Watching Multi Coloured Saturdays, Sarah Greene: "They wanted a female to work off Keith Chegwin and Mike Read" Thank god I had the subtitles on.
I'm not sure what was more strange about Tony Blackburn at the 1978 Swap Shop Awards. That he was dressed as Gonzo the Great or that he was neither up for nor presented an award despite many folk pulling double duty.
This may be something you may not have realised, but the more you actually use their preferred name and pronouns instead of their sodding deadname, the easier and more natural it becomes! So why not actually bloody respect your child and USE THEM.
Hey, parents! If your child has told you they are trans or non binary and have informed you of their preferred name and pronouns, then it absolutely behoves you to not only use them when you're in the presence of your child, but also when you are NOT in their presence and talking to other people.
Yorkshire Dads: Hot single radiators in your area are waiting for you to turn them down.
Happy birthday Swap Shop! I would like to swap three used postage stamps for a signed copy of Macbeth.

I have completely forgotten the context to why I made this but I'm very pleased with myself regardless.
Husband is watching Zodiac. I think it was a brave choice to have just one Muppet in a cast of humans. *Checks notes* oh... It's Jake Gyllenhall...
Did you ever want to know Noel Edmonds' opinions on the deliciousness of Kate bush's eyes? Us neither but we went there! Saturday morning telly is back back back....so do a subscribe and all those fancy dancing moves. Thank you.

I'm on a webinar with someone called Rebecca Wybird.
I am not joking when I say this. Spotify, Apple Music, and streaming in general is over. @alfsplaining.bsky.social is very, very good. You just don't know yet because all you listen to inferior ALF circulations. ALFsplaining has solved infinite personalised ALF podcasts.
Absolutely loving all these influencers saying "Get a pixie cut because they're low maintenance", when I look like this taking headphones off after a Teams call.
Me: *strolling in with suspicious vial of dark brown liquid* Interviewer: That's not an iced coffee, is it? I throw the vial on the floor, it is a magic potion that turns the interview panel into doves, who give me the job. In victory, I slurp the iced coffee that was hidden under my cape all along
My kid's life has been on hold for 5 years due to being on the waiting list for ADHD. This is a fucking disgrace.
As someone with AuDHD, this can mean the difference between life or suicide. And they just decided people can wait *at least* 2 years. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
My inherent politeness means I've just spent half an hour trapped in a toilet cubicle while someone has an argument on the phone about money she's owed. I was in there so long that I needed another wee.
