Today the UK is putting into practice aggressive restrictions on trans people using toilets and changing rooms. This follows a complex legal/political mess over two years. The UK was among the best countries in Europe on LGBTQ rights; now it's among the worst. www.liberalcurrents.com/the-end-of-t...

Seriously, look at the official Sex Matters position on this. They're literally saying that trans people might be completely excluded.
I don't know what people are complaining about, they say to "try to make sure there is somewhere trans people can go," what more do you want? I should clarify that this is real, from the Sex Matters site, and not an Opium Tea parody.
REMEMBER The guidance coming into effect today doesn't dictate what you're allowed to do as an individual. It for service providers and business owners. Do not cower in fear, do not reduce yourself, do not isolate, that is one of the intended effects.
Pubic Service Announcement The Vagina Museum is trans inclusive. Always has been, always will be. Today the new EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect. Let us be clear, the guidance changes nothing about how we operate.

🚨🚨Today the EHRC Code of Practice goes live. Our voices have been ignored. We will not stand for this. We will not stop until our rights are restored. The CoP does not change the law. Inclusion can happen. The vast majority of the public do not want this. WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT 🏳️⚧️✊♥️

The law around trans equality is fundamentally broken. Government inaction is hanging trans people and organisations out to dry - with a confusing mess of challenging rules and lawfare.

I really don't know how we can message this in a way which cuts through, but we really need to try and figure it out, because the vast majority of people are appalled when they actually understand what's going on.
The biggest difficulty for trans rights – the general public seems to believe the new guidance makes it possible to exclude eg trans women from women's services in some circumstances. No. This was the previous position. The current guidance requires their exclusion, always, regardless of context.
