I am alone until tomorrow afternoon/evening. The spouse and kiddo are at his mom's. In the last hour, I burned two fingers on one hand and stabbed two fingers on the other. This was all so I could smoke some weed. Not even after! I should not be left unsupervised.

Last Monday Harper - per usual - tripped her way up the steps. This time she actually strained her ACL which means mostly bedrest and carrying her around so she doesn't end up tearing it. She is a bit over my weight limit - 45lbs - and hates being carried so she is not a happy girl. What a week.

Two things can be true: Israel is committing genocide (quite gleefully, openly, and they'll brag about it on TV), and random Jewish Americans are in no way connected or tied or have to answer for Israel's actions. The only people that are accountable for the genocide are its perpetrators.

Hospitals suspended care to trans youth following a Trump EO. This seems to try working around that, doesn’t mention it

NEW YORK - Today, Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani announced three major new initiatives to safeguard and expand access to gender-affirming care for youth and adults across New York City. The initiatives represent a proactive $15 million investment at a time of growing uncertainty and escalating attacks from the federal government. To safeguard access to gender-affirming care, Mayor Mamdani's administration will: • Establish a direct care access fund for providers of youth gender-affirming care to help ensure that New Yorkers can continue to access medically necessary care. • Launch a call and text line connecting New Yorkers with care, services, information, resources and support related to gender-affirming care. • Fund research to identify gaps in health care access and outcomes for transgender and gender non-conforming New Yorkers. As the federal government retreats from supporting this critical research, New York City will invest in better understanding and meeting the needs of LGBTQ+ community. Earlier this month, the City's Law Department submitted an amicus brief supporting a legal challenge brought on behalf of transgender youth and young adults opposing federal grand jury subpoenas seeking the medical records of patients who have received gender-affirming care. On Wednesday, a federal judge granted the injunction, blocking the U.S. Department of Justice from using subpoenas to access sensitive medical records of transgender patients. Mayor Mamdani has directed the Law Department to be ready to respond, including potentially litigate, threats to end gender-affirming care for youth and adults from the federal government.

My niece, who has a complex medical condition and uses a wheelchair, is currently in Paris with her HS French class. They have prepared a lot for her limits, but I don't think they could prepare for this heat. To say I am worried is an understatement.
