Cars, cars are way better. An economy 4-cyl now makes what a DOHC V8 on premium gas used to make, they start in the winter, don’t vaporlock in the summer, proper maintenance can get them to 100,000+ miles instead of worn out at 60,000. You survive accidents instead of becoming salsa.

I’m still getting through my workday without any sort of AI. I can read a project BRD, mentally summarize it, figure out the necessary deliverables it wants, then start writing the code. You know, what they hired and pay me to do.

You know you’ve been an old house owner for a while when finding a dribbly shut off valve is an irritating trip over to Home Despot for a new one. 20 minutes later, all fixed and water back on.
It would appear that the drain solenoid in my dishwasher has ceased to be. Bereft of life, it rests in peace. If my dishwasher was in better condition, I’d consider replacing it but the door seals are rotting, the pump gasket is curling, the drain hose is Gerryrigged, so it’s in need of replacing.
Sadly the real Amtrak 406 is no longer a ground pounding 3,000hp diesel but has since been converted to a "cabbage car", (NPCU Non-powered control unit).

See, if we had a functioning government this is sort of thing that would get noticed at Very High Levels and companies like Micron would be leaned on about doing something to ameliorate the situation.
