A hoot to drive when I rev to 5k + in lower gears. Bypassed AC compressor with shorter belt. Magical smoothness.
Between this super expensive car repair I need and my dental surgery next week, I have no idea how anyone saves money. The moment you have a decent amount saved, life is like "here are three unexpected and obscenely expensive things you need to deal with immediately!"

Used to bitch about "darkest West Texas" & mean it, but I'm all better now, 'less we're talkin' 'bout preachers. Arrived in Abilene as AF brat in '58, moved away '62. Cried hard when Buddy died, etc. etc. But this captures the essence of the good side of life then where the wind always blows.

Peggy's husband's parents owned the place. Root beer is 5 cents or 10 cents and parfait root beers are 15 cents and 30 cents. I'll bet those parfait root beers were tasty!

Alright, throwing this into the wind. Reposts appreciated (and I don't usually say that). I am open to work in Anchorage, AK. Ideally want to make no less than around $25/hr (because with how CoL is going even that would be tight), but will seriously consider anything.
From 1987-1993 Harley produced the FXRS series a great handling bike particularly the FXRS-SP I owned and 87 later on a 92 when the road got tight the Sport Glide was outta sight.
I like Harleys I owned 6 Sportsters, 3 big twins and a Buell over the years. 1995 I bought a Suzuki VS800 Intruder after the break in I went WFO in first gear and thought holy shit why can't Harley build something like this!
1978 Harley made an attempt at building a performance bike the XLCR 1000 great looking but basically a Sportster under the beautiful sheet metal.
When I post about 🏍️ and riding it's one of the few things I know from experience. Learn all you can because the more you know, the better it gets and find an empty parking lot and practice your skills before that first spring ride.
If you're riding a motorcycle and the driver of a car approaching you is looking to the left he/she is going to turn left in front of you. If you are nearing an intersection with a car waiting to cross ignore the driver and watch the front wheel also practice evasive manuevers.
I wouldn't mind a violent thunderstorm. I'd probably go out and stand on it.
