I don't know what's going on with Bouchercon this year, but many writers are being denied panels (after the refund deadline has passed), and most panels have only three or four writers on them, when five has been the norm. I got a panel, but it could easily accommodate two more writers. What's up?

THE ONES IN THE CORNER is out in the world! If you fancy a strange and violent tour of an Atlanta underworld I totally made up, but probably also existed in some form, check it out. And if you like it, I’d sure appreciate you telling your friends and leaving a review on Goodreads or Amazon.

THE BRIDE! reminded me of a lot of 80s indies - really uneven, but tried a lot of mostly enjoyable stuff. Answers the question nobody asked: What if we threw The Bride of Frankenstein in a blender with Sid and Nancy, Natural Born Killers, 30s gangsters movies and musicals, and Goth videos?

Oh no! I never got to meet him, but he did such a brilliant job on the LOWDOWN ROAD cover. Absolutely nailed it, and contributed immensely to the book getting the attention it did. RIP.

Tony Stella has died. He was a brilliant artist & kind friend. When I began writing for @brightwalldarkroom.com, he was my 1st artistic collaborator, & his art--vivid, dreamy, evocative--made my scribblings seem professional. Intense, passionate, & dedicated to his craft like few I've ever known.
