Another word sometimes used instead of gate keeping is quality control. Has a bit of a different ring to it though.
There is a lengthy pro-AI screed in the latest HWA newsletter and it is . . . a mood.

I'm surprised how few DAWs have added spectral peaks as a feature considering the idea is ~10 years old. It makes it really easy to quickly spot annoying sounds in speech etc.
several studies that go into how fast/severe your brain atrophies even with short term use makes me think a lot of people will be severely fucked in the coming decades
The specific focus in this video on the way these tools get under your skin and train you to depend on them is an aspect I personally find existentially terrifying. youtu.be/TtvICev9sBE?...

When I was shown the iPlayer by a tech guy at the Beeb, I asked where was the password page for putting I your licence fee number. And he said “oh. Shit. We should have done that.” It didn’t occur to them. But that’s the first thing you’d do as a commercial streamer. Lock out non members.
My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

OK. I think I've got Resolve OTIO->AES31 working with SADiE now. Turns out SADiE is a lot more fussy & strict than Nuendo. Nuendo let's you just ignore timecode but SADiE won't import files if the timecode is missing or wrong. I only had the media for the VO files at the top but they appear correct.
With farmers across the country reporting this year's low rainfall is hitting crop yields, here's an interview we did a few years ago with Riverford Farm's Guy Singh-Watson. We need to free up farms to prepare for many more dry summers to come: share.google/zJBDVkHYOR8q...
Anyone here know SADiE software? I can't get some media to relink and no idea why.
When you get two cats, how do they decide which one will have a tiny chirp like a pixie’s doorbell and which one will wail like the ghost of a jilted bride?

Just discovered a quite serious bug by accident that has been there for a long time. Weird nobody reported. I guess because you can work around it by manually relinking media people just assumed that is how it is supposed to work.
The problem is Trump will blow it up somehow, which means the situation is actually going to remain NACHO until the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve is sucking salt-water from the caverns.
All the indicators I’m seeing suggest this is the Iran‑controlled route, with a service fee attached. Trump took the loss and is now going to try to lie and spin it as a positive outcome.
We haven't even reached the next lock in release date which I think is in a few days. Blood bath will continue very soon.

Given we are approaching that time of the year, my big piece from years back on the 1983 Cold War Crisis (and the role of Stanislav Petrov in it) over onto authory as a free-to-read. Over the years, the myth of what happened has been simplified. The reality was scarier. Because: Ronald Reagan.
The Day the World Didn’t End
At the height of the Cold War, with alarms screaming, one Soviet officer stopped to think. It cost him his career. It may also have saved the world. The morning of the 26th September 1983 had started ...
