Throwback to when I wrote a complete dubbing script for the original Godzilla when I was 16 and then acted it out using the text-to-speech engine used for BonziBuddy and Google Translate.
Haven't really delved into art for quite a while, but hopped into Vermillion VR and did a quick painting practice in a mountain lake setting. It got me looking forward to really diving back into more VR art when the Steam Frame comes out. #VermillionVR #VRArt #art
Celebrating the 4th this year by deploying a few 1.5kt tactical nukes on a tank factory in the game Nuclear Option. Very absurd game with the premise: What if we just said "fuck it, we ball" when it comes to nuclear weapons in a modern military setting.
Steam machine pre-orders up, not AS bad as I feared but still might be a hard sell to console gamers at over $1k for the base model. The randomized pre-order queue is an interesting approach.
Watching Jerma do his top ~360ish games of all time list has been fascinating. Really goes to show how VASTLY different someone's experience in the hobby of video games can be. There is such a massive breadth of experiences to be had when it comes to video games.
Not sure how getting a trailer up on the Summer Games Fest thing works, but if you had to pay money to put your game on there and the framerate was that terrible on the Twitch stream and the audio was desynced like that on Youtube you probably deserve a refund from Geoff.
🤯 GTA fans, some awesome news you don't wanna miss! #gta #gtavi #gta6
GTA fans have been on the edge of their seats at the rumours a new video is about to drop… Well the wait is over. We present: the public launch of the Rockstar IWGB Game Workers Union. Our platform, to tell our story. youtu.be/iLOq_6rOpoM
I don't know if we're ever going to see the Steam Machine or Frame at this point. The price is probably going to make them DoA if they do release any time in the next year or two. Really unfortunate timing for Valve that the entire home PC market is vanishing.
Valve has raised Steam Deck prices in the US • 1TB OLED $649 -> $949 • 512GB OLED $549 -> $789 still out of stock store.steampowered.com/steamdeck
A Blender technique I've been really into these days is hand painting black and white maps for 90's stylized shadows. I'm still working on getting good at it but it's a really useful technique for getting cool shadows that don't make physical sense. #b3d I'll explain in the comments:
I feel like some of these guys have forgotten that "taxing the rich" is simply the best offer they can hope to receive from the starving impoverished masses. The only other options are far worse for them.
Come again? 👀
Kinda fascinating. I wonder if this plays a big role in the wrong-ness people innately feel about the look of many AI-generated images? Our brains are wired for natural perspectives and subtle flaws like this stand out to us even if we can't immediately point them out.

First time in a while that I've felt pretty excited about a new VR game announcement.

Steam throwing up errors for like 6 minutes on the buy page before my order went through, must be in high demand!

REALLY hope this is nothing more than reputation laundering (which is also gross given the harms these AI companies are causing/enabling) but I don't blame anyone for being sketchy of any association with these companies, always best to assume the worst intentions until proven otherwise.

LMAO this is literally in walking distance from me. People get stuck all the time down there thinking they know how to drive on soft sand. Makes great business for local tow truck drivers. Maybe the owner didn't realize their broken LOD mesh weighs more than many fullsize trucks.

Some further thoughts on Crimson Desert. I'm about 100 hours in now, still feels like i'm around the first 1/3 of the game based solely on how far quests have taken me around the map. The game slowly doles out systems in a way that avoids feeling overwhemling, I really enjoy the camp expansion...
One thing I find interesting is that despite seemingly the ENTIRE INDUSTRY trying to kill VR and make it seem as uncool as possible... VRChat has grown almost every month for almost eight years now and is among the top 25 most played things on Steam. Niche? Perhaps, but a big & hungry one.
Artemis splashdown looked great. So many moving parts that have to go right in any space mission, glad to see everything went smoothly.
Oh, avoid updating HWMonitor or CPU-Z for the time being I guess, looks like their site got compromised, sending people to download a malicious file instead of the official updates. Sounds like their site might be down at the moment, but definitely wait for the all clear.

New Lethal Company update came out, and the game is just as hilarious and terrifying as ever. Zeekerss is a creative genius when it comes to blending comedy and horror.
The President is too unstable to serve. The 25th Amendment needs to be invoked to stop the President from doing further damage to the safety and security of the US and the world. We should be called back to DC now to vote on the War Power's Resolution to stop the war.
Been playing Crimson Desert a bunch of the last day, way too early to give any kind of overall impression of it, but I can tell already that is an insanely massive ambitious game. I can also tell it won't be enjoyable for everyone, even tho I'm enjoying much of what it has to offer. I wish...
