Why are lobbies spending $70 million on primary races? Can anyone tell me?

Former J6 Prosecutors Beg Senators To Stop Confirming Election Deniers To Court Seats

Abdul El-Sayed was outspent 9-to-1 by AIPAC and corporate Super PACs in the most expensive Senate Democratic primary of all time. Last night, he proved that organized people can beat organized money.
BREAKING: The New Mexico Department of Justice has sued Acting AG Todd Blanche and the DOJ, requesting the court for access to unredacted Epstein-related investigative files that the DOJ has been withholding.
Any Senator who votes to confirm Todd Blanche is also siding with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell – and is actively participating in covering-up their numerous and heinous crimes.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social @democrats.senate.gov And quit fear-mongering about social democrat candidates. They’re fighting for the resistance you’re too bought to support.
They need to hammer down relentlessly on this. They can't become overconfident, like they did with Hillary in 2016.
Maybe the reason nature feels so peaceful is because nothing is trying to be anything other than what it is.
On this day in 1944, the Gestapo found Anne Frank and her family in their Secret Annex. Her diary stands as a warning against hatred and persecution. Eighty years later, we should recognize the warning signs before it’s too late.🙂↕️
Gill: All 100 senators last week passed a non-binding resolution condemning any pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell. They're simultaneously considering confirming the guy who met with her and moved her to a low-security facility as the top cop in the United States. That is so insane to me.
A civilian medical plane went down after an experimental US military GPS jamming test reportedly disrupted its radar. Every person aboard lost their life. www.yahoo.com/news/us/arti...
I am not emotionally ready for this.
First argument of the term: "Whether federal law precludes state-law claims seeking relief for injuries allegedly caused by the effects of interstate and international greenhouse-gas emissions on the global climate."
Survivors have been on Capitol Hill for months, courageously sharing their stories and demanding accountability. The Senate must listen. Todd Blanche is unfit to serve as our next Attorney General. Every Senator should vote NO.
Important thread. Read it.
1/ Republicans are running a psych operation on Democrats. They warn us not to nominate populists. But leaked GOP memos prove they’re actually terrified of populist candidates. Trump said it himself: Bernie was the one he didn’t want to face. 🧵 #DV1 #ProudBlue #Voices4Victory #USDemocracy
Exactly! And in the case of Abdul, AIPAC is funneling so much money into the estab Dem (Stevens, $60m+) to beat him for this reason. I speculate that should she win (I can't imagine b/c his signs are EVERYWHERE) then the funds will ALL go to the Repub. Progressive wins are a message to oligarchs.
A good thread but I'd make one major correction: it isn't just Republicans putting on this (strategic) show of warning against progressive populist candidates. In this, they have tag-teamed, for years, with the Clintonite-right "Democrats" who dominate the party apparatus and its federal electeds.
10/ Trump feared Bernie in private. GOP operatives fear Hong in private. The receipts are public now, in black and white, straight from their own memos and recordings. Stop letting the people who want you to lose tell you who your safest pick is. Watch what they do, not what they say.
7/ So follow the con carefully. Republicans go on cable news and warn Democrats not to nominate populists because they supposedly cannot win. Then privately they write memos admitting those same populists are exactly the ones who actually scare them the most in a real race.
6/ Here is the line that matters most. The same memo says a more moderate establishment Democratic alternative would actually produce lower base motivation and depressed turnout compared to Hong. Republicans are telling each other privately that the “safe” moderate pick is the weaker one.
4/ Journalist Ken Klippenstein got the memo. GOP consultants working for Tiffany’s campaign wrote that Hong is “uniquely dangerous in the general election.” That is not spin from her camp, it is the other side’s own internal warning. kenklippenstein.com/p/will-francesca-hong-and-abdul-el
Will Francesca Hong and Abdul El-Sayed Get Elected?
Washington's plan to block them

3/ Same playbook, new decade. Francesca Hong is the clear frontrunner for Wisconsin governor. Billionaire owned national media keeps calling her too extreme to win a general election. But a leaked GOP memo written for her opponent Tom Tiffany tells a very different story behind closed doors.

His Senate confirmation hearing starts July 15. Here’s the record Republicans will have to ignore, or reward, to back him.
