I was a reporter and editor back when newspapers were popular and meaningful. I've been in 50 states and nine provinces. I was a boy reporter in Georgia who covered Jimmy Carter when he ran for governor in 1966. I met him again in Canada many years later.

I mean this in all seriousness, this is a severely mentally ill & delusional person who not only should be removed from office under the 25th amendment, but he should be in a psych ward. This is pure insanity on so many levels. He lives in a fantasy world. He is unwell & has lost touch with reality.

Donald Trump is set to announce Thursday in prime time that he’s the only President in US history who couldn’t keep our elections secure. If this were true it should be followed up with a resignation. He’s essentially saying he’s a victim of his own incompetence.

I wish people responding with calls to “cut them out of the country” would stop being so ignorant. Many of those states have large blue demographics. They’ve just been gerrymandered out of representation for years now. Help them fight back.

Georgia Voter: It's giving war crime. You can't do that. We don't just annihilate people because we can and, you know, make a grab for the money and the oil. And that's what we've done in Venezuela. And that's what we're doing in Iran.

Philip Kennicott: The new banner on Justice’s Robert F. Kennedy building formalizes in iconography what is already the case in practice: The president has repurposed the agency as an instrument for personal political vendettas and partisan vengeance. www.washingtonpost.com/style/2026/0...

Column | On a new banner, Trump evokes the shadow world of authoritarian icons

A new Trump banner outside the Justice Department evokes authoritarian regimes and signals that it is now wholly loyal to the whims of the current president.

TSA really doesn't need to exist on the level it does; one bad thing happened 25 years ago and now everyone has to be terribly inconvenienced at the airport; but mass shootings happen on the regular and nothing can be done.

This is Maria, a 6-year-old detained by ICE last year. She began to unravel soon after arriving at a detention center in Texas, wetting the bed after years without accidents, crying through the night and begging to breastfeed again. Most of all, she wanted to be reunited with her cat, Milo. 1/

Why is the man who killed Alex Pretti still anonymous? Transparency isn’t optional when someone dies in state custody. This would be state violence without accountability. Name him. Investigate him. Hold him responsible.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Simply put: I am in control of the world's largest and most powerful military. And because I didn't get a prize for making peace, I feel entitled to consider going to war with a longtime ally. This man is mentally ill. That is not hyperbole. He's sick. He must be removed from power immediately.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has confirmed he received a message from Donald Trump at the weekend saying he was no longer interested “purely” in peace due to not getting the Nobel Peace Prize.

Putting aside the terrifying prospect of a world war caused by someone who is unfit to be in his role, what a sad state of affairs it has become that not one person around him is prepared, interested or motivated to stop this.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts. Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

If the vast vast majority of Americans want reasonable gun controls and they can't get passed by the Congress then our democracy is broken. Or to be more accurate, it has been corrupted. The consciences and reason of our DC leaders have been purchased...for a pittance. Stop the $$ to stop the guns.

If they pretend they haven’t heard about the story of the day, end the interview right there. “I’m sorry, Senator, we wanted to get your perspective on this story, but it seems you’re not fully aware of what’s going on.”

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions "Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"
