By passing Blanche out of committee, Cornyn and Tillis shift the burden to the full Senate: a floor rejection triggers the Vacancies Act, forcing Blanche out as Acting AG immediately and permanently killing the nomination—a far bigger blow than stalling him in committee.

I disagree. A narcissist grifter never pays someone for a past job. They pay them to do the next one. He is funding the next insurrection attempt about 8 months from now.

Its also being a patriot vs being a nationalist or an oligarch.
James Talarico: We are living in an era of corruption. I don’t just mean illegal activity. I mean corruption in the deeper sense — the rotting of something from the inside. This is, at its root, a spiritual crisis. And it will require a spiritual solution.

According to the War Powers Resolution of 1973 (War Powers Act), Trump has ONE day left to secure a Declaration of War from Congress, and another 30 days to bring our troops home if not. $10 says Congress doesn't do 💩 and $20 says no one, definitely not SCOTUS, makes Trump follow the law. #feckless
No, a White House ballroom is *not* "critical for our national security". It's an obsession of an increasingly addled psychopath. It's a distraction from Trump's illegal war of aggression against Iran. It's a distraction from the cover-up of the crimes of Epstein, et. al.
Thos are the facial expressions of 1) frightened individuals; and 2) someone who knows what's been planned. If you rat on "the Don"...payback's in the cards. Her fear, his smirk.
He looks so utterly satisfied to see her in fear. That tracks.
This is your reminder that it's been ten months since the assassination of Melissa Hortman, her husband and her dog, and there hasn't been even a hint of justice for her family, friends or colleagues.
Kevin Warsh just lost me. He argues he's going to be an independent Fed Chair, but refuses to acknowledge that Trump lost the 2020 election. If you can't state simple facts when you're in the political spotlight, you aren't independent. You're a coward.
Why don't we build refineries that deal with this locally? Because it's incredibly expensive and we're already getting paid for the oil from other countries so no one wants to who is in power. Drill baby drill is to sell more oil overseas and make oil companies and related industries rich.
FACTS: Most U.S. oil has ALWAYS been shipped overseas Our refineries are built to process Middle Eastern heavy crude Drill-baby-drill US oil is light crude and cannot be used domestically in the refineries we have. Yes, we have increased US production dramatically, but we do not consume most of it
If trickle-down economics worked at all, the world gaining 400 billionaires last year would have set off an economic boom, given everyone raises, and lowered our prices. But it didn't. Because trickle-down economics is a scam designed to make the rich richer off the rest of us.
NOT “Law and Order” Jack Smith January testimony: I think that In the coming months and years……We will see people who were pardoned for Jan 6 continuing to commit additional crimes.
We must require ALL data centers and other extremely large corporate users of electricity to generate their own electricity at their own expense If we don't do this, we are either idiots and/or masochists.
I was trying to figure out how to word my thoughts about the video Trump posted. This says it better than I could.
Trump and his administration do not care about women’s lives. Posting a video of a woman being graphically murdered is yet another form of objectification and dehumanization. The purpose of it was to shock and offend, in order to encourage racism against immigrant men. It is a form of terror.
The reprehensible story that Trump and Hegseth are now telling about this war is that threatening genocide and civilizational erasure is *good,* because it bends the world to Trump/American will. We need to take this on directly. Some thoughts on this idea here: newrepublic.com/article/2087...
Constitutional lawyer here. I don't think it would violate the Constitution for the VP/Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, but the intended constitutional remedy for this behavior is impeachment & removal. The fact that that remedy is politically impossible is a scandal and a crisis.
If I were in Trump's Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. This is completely, utterly unhinged. He's already killed thousands. He's going to kill thousands more.
This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now.
Pope Leo XIV carried the cross across all fourteen stations for over an hour. The prayers named children who had been “taken away and imprisoned during protests, deported by policies devoid of compassion, shipwrecked on desperate journeys of hope, killed in war zones, and wiped out in death camps.”
Sure. If it's 2:00 am and completely wasted, you can say you "teleported" there because you have no idea where you left your car. 😂
This dude knows his party is going to get smoked in the November midterms so he is doing everything in his power to disenfranchise as many voters before the election. #TrumpVotedByMail in last week’s special election in FL. He is a fraud and will do anything to cling to power.
If citizenship is a birthright, the government is your servant. If citizenship is a "grant of jurisdiction," the government is your master. #14thAmendment
