My hot take is that part of the reason people feel like they have to use AI is that we basically killed the internet. Outside of, like, Wikipedia nothing works. It’s just pop ups, dickovers, and slop. At least Claude gives you a clean window and relevant text (for now).

The Trump admin had a real theory of war: Put on a show of toughness, tell people how manly you are, disdain law, do war crimes, and you win. Earlier losses came from leaders too "weak" to do that. It was a very stupid theory. But they espoused it a lot, really seem to believe it, and acted on it.

This movie was my introduction to adult cinema (not in the sense of sex but in the sense of "movies for adults") and the first time I saw it I thought "wow, this is so sophisticated". Then I saw it again a few years later and realized "no, actually this is terrible and dumb."

Aside from the uncanny valley horror of necromancy that such automated history-telling incites, there's also the issue of sources being processed like this w/o context. 7/n
This passage reminds me of watching Poor Things and spending the whole movie thinking “oh man she has to be getting so many nasty diseases“ and then they hand-wave it away with one line about getting tested and everything being ok. That movie was… not my favorite.
