The insomnia is relentless. Losing one's mind is so terribly uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

Just re-joined Finch, since my husband is really into it. I am a hot mess, and hoping maybe it'll help me a bit. Anyhow! Friend code! Please add me if you are on there too. 😊 RPKN3ZFZFD
I'll stop talking about potatoes soon, I promise. They taste delicious! I roasted them with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. I made a large sheet tray and the pile doesn't even look touched. 🤣 Anyone wanna share their favourite potato recipe? 🤣
Stats time! Harvest: Just under 6kg (or: just over 13 lbs). Supplies: 4 10gal grow bags. 1 bag of seed potatoes from the nursery. Soil, potato fertilizer (applied 2 times), straw mulch. Next year I'm going to do 2 varieties so I can do 2 harvests! #pnwgardening #zone8b #gardening #potatoes
Potatoes! From my grow bags! Epic harvest, no damaged or squishy ones! #gardening #zone8b #pnwgardening

I am still alive, technically. Just wish I wasn't. I have never felt this bad in my life. Like I have really and truly lost my mind. If you have tried to email or call me (or had an appointment with me) in the last week, I'm sorry. I've either been asleep, in hospital, or wishing I was asleep.
It's so much fun feeling as if you are about 30 seconds away from losing your mind. For days and days. Yeah, still not great here. Maybe tomorrow will be better? Heh.
Gotta love a middle of the night run of panic attacks. I feel 22 again, lol.
Life is pretty hellish. Watching old Time Team episodes to cope. Will return when the misery is a little less miserable.
So, yeah. Things aren't great for me. Apparently I am not compatible with stimulants. Ended up in emerg last night with some cardiac nonsense. Sigh. So, back to the drawing board. Juuuust as I lose my GP. On a wait list for a new doc. Just gonna vibrate with anxiety until that happens. Whee.
Just got released from emerg. Long story for later on (sigh) but the important point is that no one at my house is answering the phone and therefore no one is coming to get me. Bus isn't for 2 hours. SIGH.
Poodle with tail blowing in the wind. This was taken shortly after he scared off an evil squirrel that surely would have killed us all!
Was pretty psyched to find an io moth here! I’ve done *many* moth nights in the pine barrens but rarely see this one!
Freaked out for a minute when I found aphids on my nasturtiums. Until I remembered that's why I planted them. To act as aphid traps. SUCCESS! #pnwgardening #gardening #gardenpests #aphids
At our local Pride dance. I appear to have completely lost my ability to socialize. Whee.

Also on the Cheetos thing, if any influencer says some variation of "you can't even pronounce these ingredients". Ask yourself can you pronounce gasoline, or lead? Your ability to pronounce things has zero correlation to their health benefits or detriments.
I have spent nearly the entire day laying in my underoos in front of a fan. SO FUCKING HOT. It hit 36° outside here today. This summer is going to be rough.
We took everything except appliances out of our garage yesterday. Cleaned everything. Sorted it and put it all back inside. We got about 3/4 through the sorting before it was too hot, so we still have work to do. I feel like I've been hit by a truck, whee. Getting old is a privilege but also OW.
LifeLabs needs a better appointment system. Not the fault of the front line staff but what a fucking mess. Wish we had an alternative, but nope.
*grumble grumble* stupid eastern time people not thinking of us stupid pacific time people when planning webinars. 8am is not an appropriate time to be learning about ecological restoration. *gulps tea like it's oxygen*
*looks at my beautifully written to do list for the day* Maybe I could just play video games instead? I mean.. the ADHD meds are making it easier every day to get stuff done, but also: I don't waaaaaaaaaanna.
Maybe now is a good time to discuss how MSG, monosodium glutamate, is actually partly responsible for the proliferation of the upscale taste we call "umami," and that anti-MSG pearl-clutching, none of whose health effects are borne out by scientific study, is really just weird anti-Asian sentiment.
Screwworms eradicated in the US in 1966. Measles eradicated in the US in 2000. Both are back because of this science denying administration.
I pulled so many slugs off my baby pole beans this morning. One plant is entirely gone. The other 7 are mostly fine. Going to replant a seed where the one is gone. Going to figure out a cloche situation today. They just need some help while they are still small. Sigh.
Our local conservation association is doing an excellent job of World Oceans Week this week. Every day at noon they are doing short webinars. Yesterday: QENTOL, YEN, the W̱SÁNEĆ Marine Guardians. They are working to protect Southern Resident Killer Whales in the Salish Sea. www.qentolyen.com

Okay, enough owl photos. ONE MORE! A selfie. Check out the owl next to my head! 🤣
While photographing the owl from my back deck, a hummingbird buzzed my head. I had a zoom lens on so I didn't think I'd get a good photo of the hummer, but I tried anyhow. Not bad! What a cutie! Also, check out my plants. 😍
Momma Barred Owl, on my fence. Such a special experience having her land so close to me. Photo #1 was taken on my Canon Rebel EOS T4i with a zoom lens. Photo #2 was taken with my cell phone, a Samsung S25 Ultra. #owls #barredowl
