PGH comic, online dip shit

Gotta hand it to Phoebe, I never expected to hear Justin from Godflesh and Mike from American Football play guitar together on a song about being in love with Bo Burnham

Plenty to reflect about re: the Arday affair, but I'm going to repeat this one thing. The playbook the right used here is effective even though it's not especially sophisticated, as it relies on the audience to do the dirty work. I've been calling it "Trojan horse propaganda", let's go with that. 1/

Party? Yeah, I partied. Me and my millennial friends all have Inflammatory Nostril Disease from partying. It’s extinct now so Gen Z won’t ever get it

I don’t want to pay for Letterboxd but I do love the aesthetic of picking your own movie posters so to bridge the difference I’ve been updating my top four every time I watch a movie to match the poster on the bottom

Reading the TikTok comments is great because sometimes you see some dude mansplaining the dying process to a hospice nurse by saying he’s “been in the industry for 20 years” and then you click on his profile and he’s a fucking MAGICIAN

I tried telling people exactly this. It does not work. We are in lizard brain zone with this stuff and I am afraid it’s too late. People have told me they’d rather have the cia track their kids than give up the “control” of tracking their loved ones. Can’t argue with that.

I think people understandably but magically believe that surveilling your loved ones will protect them from harm because it promises knowledge and control. But when you get more knowledge but little actual control, your anxiety goes through the roof

After spending too much time on TikTok I have to ask: is what’s happening there really ever a “conversation”? It seems to me that it’s more like an ongoing dialogue of screeds written on a bathroom wall than anything resembling human conversation. Or maybe I’m just falling for marketing terms

You could get mad about dead senator discourse *or* you could enjoy this video of sea lions who have retaken an island with a decommissioned lighthouse off the coast of Oregon and now use the staircase as a giant slide.

I want to institute full authoritarian communism for the sole purpose of getting rid of all the condescending pull-up-your-bootstraps quotations that are on display at every Jimmy Johns
