That's a LOT closer than I thought it was gonna be. For Labour to have lost four points amid the "Burnham bounce" and the establishment's continued Corbyning of Zack Polanski (something that they'll deny they're doing but I've got receipts m8) is actually cause for a little hope.

Labour 45% Green 33%

I've talked about this before, but it is very hard when you see how moral red lines are drawn, and the complete gutting of trans people's civil rights is entirely within an accepted norm and barely remarked upon even by many progressives.

It's just accepted as normal that the UK hates trans people and that's ok. It doesn't even register as something to be concerned about when most cis people are talking about the state of the country. Tired.

We were racing the setting sun here and only had enough light for one take but this was one of my favorite sessions with Toni Lindgren ever. Those turtles move fast. 170bpm if I remember right. 🎵 Come Back Home by Trampled By Turtles

For clarity: I think this was an obviously bad and stupid idea but on the other, we do actually need to face up to what successive governments have done and continue to do, and the public should not have to put up with a media class filled with hate who lie, defame and destroy as a matter of course.

You should understand this stuff not as analysis of public opinion - since when did the lads give a fuck about that? - and not even as threats. These are promises: we, the press, are now going to fuck you up, and we won’t stop screaming until your lives are utterly miserable.

ANALYSIS: Zack Polanski may regret not using his influence when Greens needed him to act - by @peterwalker99

Reading the news, it would be easy to believe that the Green Party has adopted a policy to expel its Jewish members, prevent them from attending synagogue or at the very least scrutinise their activities outside the party. *None of that has happened* 🧵

Well, I for one am an economist who supports rent controls! Here’s why 🧵: Markets only work well if: -buyers & sellers have roughly equal power -producers respond to price signals & expand supply in response to scarcity -buyers can walk away if prices get too high

Ash Sarkar: "The one thing the govt could do to improve the lives of young people is introduce some rent controls" Govt minister Jonathan Reynolds: "No economist supports rent controls" There you have it. Are you a young person trapped paying exorbitant rent? The Labour govt says f**k you.

Labour already have a huge majority. Another Labour MP putting Thames Water "on notice" isn't going to lower our water bills or protect our rivers. Nationalise Thames Water. Vote Green on October 8th. 💚

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.

Amazing thread. everyone should read everything, then read the medium post. I am especially talking about centrist Dems who do not understand why trans people won't just vote for them or their candidate despite their rhetoric being not much better (if at all) than their GOP opponents.

NEW ESSAY on last week's deluge of Dems embracing anti-trans positions. let's stop fixating on trans ppl & instead recognize that Dems have a cisgender problem. pls share! Medium (friend link): juliaserano.medium.com/on-democrats... & Substack (no paywall): juliaserano.substack.com/p/on-democra...
