As part of my research for the soy game I'm working on I'm trying to read classic espionage fiction to get a feel for the genre. Right now I'm reading The IPCRESS File and really struggling with it, neither the style nor the plot have really grabbed me a third of the way I to it.

If anyone is at GenCon and sees these on the @ipr.bsky.social stand or buys copies please send pics! I love seeing my games out in the wild and it still amazes me that they get exhibited at shows I'll probably never attend!

I know that objectively a cheap scotch pie covered in beans is not good food but subjectively it was absolutely banging as a lunch choice

The new Ghost in the Shell series has promise thought it's going to take a lot to outdo the nostalgic memory of Strange Alone Complex for me.

What sort of games do you make Craig? Uplifting and light hearted? I added two more books recently to my growing collection that complement the game I've submitted for Dragonmeet.

Two books about the Cold War - Capital of Spies and Berlin A Spy's Guide A pile of books about spies and submarines during the cold war

Oops. Logged into the pub quiz while on the train home from Glasgow just to see if I could and accidentally won it even without being able to hear the songs in the music round.

I have a very niche request for you all: I am looking to find someone with knowledge of the Soviet space program who is also a Russian speaker to consult on Able Artemis to make sure that the Soviets are as well researched as the US. It will be paid, email cj.shearwood@epigram.games if interested.

Some people need to just learn to shut up when they're on trains. Or at the very least learn to moderate the volume they talk at. Yes I'm tired and grumpy but this guy has talked non stop and seems determined to ensure the entire carriage can hear him.

Between being ill and the heatwave the last few weeks have just been miserable so it felt nice to get back into a creative headspace today even if it was just printing off some new model templates and outlining sections on a new play test document.
