Amazon workers on federal aid nearly tripled between 2020 and 2025. During that time, Jeff Bezos saw his net worth jump by $139B as Amazon profits hit record highs. No corporation as profitable as Amazon should be paying its workers so little they must rely on food stamps and Medicaid to survive.
Corporate America has turned its back on democracy and bowed down to Trump. When, in the future, it once agains becomes convenient for them to say they celebrate democracy we should not believe them. In the meantime, we are on our own.

If the estimates were right, there were about 9 million people at No Kings rallies today. That would mean this protest was THIRTY TIMES AS LARGE AS THE TEA PARTY PROTEST which we were told, over and over again, was a massively important sign that US politics had shifted dramatically to the right

Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social · 4mo agoAgain, the first Tea Party rallies in April 2009 -- heavily promoted in advance by Fox News -- only had about 300,000 attendees across 750 cities, but the media treated it like the Second American Revolution. There will be multiple *individual* No Kings rallies today that have more people at them.
I understand that there are a lot of folks on the left who instinctively recoil from religious language, and with good reason given its use by the right. But please listen to this, and focus on how he's trying to realign "Christian values" so they align with and advance progressive policy goals.

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact. How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
