"If this is what it takes to get a rom-com greenlit these days, maybe we should just let them die. Death with dignity is surely a better fate for the genre than fascist capitulation." Zero stars for this piece of shit movie. My review of ONE NIGHT ONLY for @ebertvoices.bsky.social

One Night Only review: Pull out from this sex-negative rom-com

If this is what it takes to get a rom-com greenlit these days, maybe we should just let them die.

When are folks going to write pieces about the majority of white voters always voting against progress? It will never not make me livid to see bs like this, podcast bros, & political movements that are 85% white with these hot takes. Call the thing a thing. 🗣️RACISM is holding this country back.

The classic dumb guy "he'd be fun to have a beer with" justification for voting for a candidate was never a good one, but at least it was understandable on some level. What happened to that? Trump and the various freaks in his orbit would suck so bad to have a beer with. We must retvrn to tradition.

With "Blade" canceled, the MCU is going to come up with an alternate reason why Blade turned up to talk to the very popular character of Black Knight at the end of very popular movie "Eternals" ... You know what? Never mind.

60 years ago today, BATMAN was released in theaters, and not only is one of the great underrated comedies of the '60s, but when it comes to delivering the message "some days you just can't get rid of a bomb," it's second to nun.

One drum I keep beating is that the Trumpification of the Republican Party is irreversible. Even after he's gone it will be exclusively cranks, charlatans, and malevolent antisocial goons. "It was always like that"-it wasn't! It's gotten steadily, measurably worse, and he was the nail in the coffin

New, from me: It is fine to disagree with aspects of the pandemic response. But what we saw at Fauci's hearing was something different: a show trial where cranks tried to threaten and shift blame to an public servant. Here is why this is bad for all of us.🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/watching-t...

Tom Holland says he wants to “try and do Fred proud.” Fred Astaire stated in his will that he never wanted anyone to EVER make a biopic about him. Astaire’s family has pushed back against this project for years. That doesn’t sound like “doing Fred proud” to me.

Tom Holland is planning to do all his own dancing in the Fred Astaire biopic he's signed up to star in.
