I am rarely affected by discourse on social media, but the current wave of posts asserting that Long Covid is psychosomatic has angered me. To be very clear: if you're asserting that LC isn't a physical disease, you're ignorant of science. End of.
I’m only seeing people with ME or Long Covid sharing this. If you’re not affected, can you please read it & share? Ableist propaganda goes viral all the time, which encourages outlets to publish more of it. Can we please make the truth go viral instead?

I am really fed up w/ ppl punching down at online advocacy and activism when the rest of you refuse to make in-person spaces accessible for high-risk ppl. We have gotten more done in 6yrs online on the most ignored issue in our country with tens of millions chronically ill bc of it, mostly ONLINE.

Hey so uhhhhh that Boston Globe story about the lesbian bar relaxing its covid rules is an *absolute fucking hit piece* targeting the disabled, chronically ill, and covid-conscious and it would be great if folks sharing and joking about it could recognize that framing.
It's too depressing and obnoxious to write about, but virtually all of the doomy/horny AI hyperventilating is transparently displaced anxiety about our fucked climate and political situation. Even rich idiots know it's bad and being permitted to get worse. They're trying to write their own ending.

I think of workplace generative AI as pretty much in the same category of these sort of things. You can see how an extremely emissions-intensive activity sort of worms its way into workplace culture; just becomes part of the air around you. And once it's locked in, it's v tough to argue against
