#WIPSnips Oct 18 -- Autumn Had to go with 'fall' for this one.

Stopping at a shrine or temple each day slowed their travel, sometimes to a crawl. They had once spent three days in a single town, visiting its temple and several shrines. But, the Balance-Called was pleased with their progress, as was eir godde.
The Balance-Called had had several opportunities to bring balance to the people they met. Small matters, mostly, but still ey had felt the Scaled One's delight in stretching emself out into the world once more, setting things right in the only ways that mattered to it.
They approached another small town through the fall drizzle and, as had become common, a delegation was waiting to meet them on the road. This delegation was larger than most, and seemed… agitated.

Glorfindel sent his horse across the bridge with a word, then led Bilbo’s pony. Bilbo thought a blessing toward Elrohir, who had selected and trained the animal. She proved to have an easy gait and incredible aplomb, and was not at all bothered by the narrow bridge over the loud river.
The way to the ford was alive with gold and russet leaves in the rising sun. The path did not admit of riding abreast, and Bilbo found himself in the middle of their group, Elrond leading, Galadriel next. Glorfindel followed Bilbo, and the rest of the host from Lorien and Rivendell followed. At the ford, Elrond halted, yielding the lead to Galadriel, who took it willingly. He waited at the water’s edge and gave Bilbo a grave nod of greeting.
“The low spot in the hedge,” said Bilbo, earning a puzzled glance from Glorfindel.
“Indeed.”
The three crossed together. “The autumn comes in handsomely,” Glorfindel remarked after a half-league of silence.
“Is that what you see?” Elrond asked from the other side of Bilbo.
“What do you see?”
“Battlfields."
