And for the really bad news? They've put a target on VPNs. Sites are required to identify (and age-verify) any US citizen, regardless of whether they're using a VPN. In fact, the default is to get the ID and biometrics of EVERYONE unless you can somehow prove their not a US citizen.

Hi this just got a lot more dire because I found out that my mother has been hiding the most recent eviction notice from us. We will officially be street homeless if we don't get away from her this time. #mutualaid

it is something i hit on a lot, that of the many, many bad reasons all the internet regulation stuff is aimed at kids instead of actual companies, CEOs, the ones actually doing harm - is it's cuz kids don't have any political power and can't do shit about it. they're a 'no cost' target here.
