For those who have been waiting for an update, Niño 3.4 sea-surface temperatures have been treading water at daily record "super El Niño" levels (≈2.6°C above the 1991-2020 baseline) for most of August. The El Niño peak in the latest CFSv2 model run is now about 4.1°C.
