For those who have been waiting for an update, Niño 3.4 sea-surface temperatures have been treading water at daily record "super El Niño" levels (≈2.6°C above the 1991-2020 baseline) for most of August. The El Niño peak in the latest CFSv2 model run is now about 4.1°C.

As usual, Pecksniff puts the finger on a key point. Politicians must lead. And if there were any credible plan to put significant change into the manifesto, Burnham needs to start preparing the ground now. Hiding from the fight simply cedes the opportunity to do so. Disappointing.
