Vote YES on 3! All-Party Primaries

@yeson3ma.bsky.social

Vote YES on 3 this November 3rd! 🗳️ All-Party primaries ensure that NO voter is taken for granted. More competition 🟰 more accountability.

One of the wildest claims the "No on 3" crowd makes is that Q3 (top-2 primaries) would be bad for independent candidates. Last night was the Senate debate between Markey & Deaton. Not included? Tache, who has raised over a quarter of a million dollars, and has more volunteers than Deaton.

I'm seeing arguments against Question 3 that basically amount to uncompetitive general elections are a good thing. The idea that it's bad for working class candidates because they'd have to campaign for more. Or that primaries create a pipeline for progressive groups.

More people turn out to vote for the general election in November, when many of our races are already decided, than turn out for the primary election in September for the decision. Question 3 would help to change that so that more of us are involved in choosing our government.

The Massachusetts Democratic Party and the Massachusetts Republican Party both oppose Question 3, along with state legislative leaders. But the Yes on 3 campaign announced Monday that former GOP Gov. Charlie Baker has joined former Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick in endorsing the election reform.

When voters go to the ballot box on September 1st and November 3rd, they want to vote for a PERSON. Not a party. Read why Massachusetts Question 3 empowers Independent voters and small parties: yeson3ma.org/resources/qu... 👏 Thanks to @FWD_Mass for their endorsement and support! #mapoli

Does Question 3 hurt third parties? No. It gives third-parties and independent candidates the same ballot and rules as everyone else.
