My 13 year old did a book report on The Hobbit last year in which he made an entire board game (complete with trivia questions) based on what he read. Y’all gotta stop treating kids like they’re stupid.
Lincoln Michel@thelincoln.bsky.social · 4w agoThe big literary discourse on twitter right now is whether The Hobbit—a children’s book that won children’s lit awards and was literally written for the author’s children—is appropriate reading for children or in fact such a difficult book most adults can’t “get their head around” it.

Being bisexual in a straight passing marriage is so weird. Both my partner and I are queer. They are also nonbinary, I’m cis. Every year we get told that we don’t belong at pride, and that my “straight” husband isn’t welcome. Or we hear that he isn’t actually Bi and that we’re comphet.
I’m rewatching BtVs this summer so be prepared for approximately 7 million posts about it.
