Wherever you go I will go, wherever you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God, my God. (Ruth 1:16)

And unions = organized workers. Workers power the economy. Workers build the wealth and stability that make the foundation of the middle class. Workers fight for fairness. And workers ultimately create the wealth and material conditions for the reproduction of society and allow for a better future.

Unions power the economy. Unions build the middle class. Unions fight for fairness. I'm so honored to be endorsed by strong Michigan unions.

The joys of living under an exploitative socioeconomic system. Eventually you realize the game is rigged; but the trick is getting the multitude of other players to join you in flipping over the board and creating something where we all win, not simply the owners of the game’s IP.

All of my smart career decisions didn't seem to matter, in the end it was the system that has control over my life, not me. The older you get the more you realize how true this is.

Mourning the loss of Dolly Parton with an imperial stout from Breakside Brewing, wishing more people with her level of fame and money did as many good deeds as she did, often quietly and without fanfare. She wasn’t perfect, but she definitely seems like she was a good person, and I like her music.

Me, drinking a Carl Con Carne imperial stout from Breakside Brewing, wearing a pink Dolly Parton tee shirt, and being sad.

Almost everything is in our lives is political in that it’s directly connected to, or affected by, politics. I consciously ignored it for half of my life because I didn’t understand that. And much of it is controlled by the whims of capitalism and those in control of, or subservient to, capital.

For the "I don't follow politics" crowd. That's the thing, politics follows you. To the gas pump, to the grocery store, to the bathroom.

The new Masters of the Universe movie is so damn good. It references the toys, cartoon, and live action movie made in the late 80’s faithfully without taking itself too seriously. I think OG fans will love it. I know I did. I hope they do the same for She-Ra, which gets teased at the end. 9/10

I learned that I’m eligible under Canadian law for dual Canadian citizenship because my great grandmother was born in Canada. Just need to track down the documents from my deceased family to prove it and a bunch of money to apply once I get them. 🤪

Heard from one of my homies that another friend died by suicide. I’ve had too many people I know kill themselves. By train. By gunshot. By overdose. By hanging. It makes me sad that in every case, we either lost touch or I didn’t know they were dealing with something to that level.

"How strange it is that the anarchists I have met have been the most disciplined of men, lawful & orderly, while those who insist that discipline and order must prevail are those who, out of plain contrariness, would refuse to obey and are the ones most unable to regulate themselves." – Dorothy Day

Dorothy day, April 17, 1957, prior to her arrest at City Hall while protesting the mandatory "Operation Alert" civil defense drill. She hods a sign with text attributed to Pope John XXIII: "Why should hte resources of human genius and the riches of the people turn more often to preparing arm... than to increasing the welfare of all classes of citizens and particularly of the poor?"

Of course they don’t. They live in an entirely different world than the average working person. If you want a better government that reflects your life and needs, then you need actual working people making decisions, not politico-economic elites who prioritize capital over labour.
