btw that "Gaming 4 Democracy" thing they showed at Gamescom that's partnering with @gamesdonequick.com is run by a ""non-profit"" that's functionally just a puppet of the German government. Their idea of "democracy" is squashing support for Palestine under the guise of stopping anti-semitism.

To explore the question of how games can strengthen democracy, we have on 18 on the 18th. October together with the Bertelsmann Foundation invited to the first Roundtable Gaming for Democracy. We report more on this further in this issue.

ICE has fallen out of the headlines but July marked the largest number of migrant detentions ever on record. Five migrants have died in ICE custody in the last two months. It's also currently impossible to legally migrate to this country, as 100% of visa applications have been paused.

well this kinda hit me like a ton of bricks not to "kids today" but it's fucked that so many people can't even remember existing in a world where you couldn't be clipped by some shitbag's phone video recording to get clowned on social media for. That's such a ubiquitous risk of being outside now
