GOOD NEWS! A new cancer treatment has demonstrated unprecedented results in a large trial for cancer patients whose disease has become resistant to chemotherapy AND immunotherapy. Tumors shrank in OVER a third of participants, with 15 patients experiencing COMPLETE eradication of their tumors.

Why would a woman try to appease a scary man whom she is legally bound to for many years to come, by virtue of a helpless child whom he has access to and could harm in retribution at any time? Why would she offer empanadas to such a man? Truly perplexing.

What do we have to do to get IKEA to accept SNAP/EBT at its stores? We’re at their restaurant right now while shopping, and I was just looking at how I can get a pasta plate for like four bucks, and add meatballs for another $1.50, and the calories per dollar is *nuts*. People should have access.

One of the (many) reasons I think people are so anti-AI is that it’s a gratuitous display of wealth inequality. The average person’s life is difficult, expensive, and getting any kind of loan sucks - unless you’re raising billions of dollars to build an AI data center.

Was awesome to join Bloomberg to talk about the lie of AI - everyone's buying into the mag7 believing CapEx is going towards diverse AI demand, when all it's really doing is supporting the circular cloud revenues of two unprofitable, unsustainable AI labs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHcZ...

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor

The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

It's common knowledge that one of the most dangerous times for a woman is after she leaves an abusive man. It's terrifying to then, with shared custody, let that man have access to your child. Knowing his anger and violence issues, you will do almost anything to try to keep him calm and happy.

So exhausted already by the meme that the "tells" of gen AI writing are when something is structurally aping the way a decent professional writer writes, rather than when it's meaningless word salad. (You will take my em dashes, sets of three, and lack of typos from my cold, dead hands.)

nothing shouts "I don't read much" more than when you equate em-dashes with AI. as Kat says here: 1) AI uses em-dashes BECAUSE AUTHORS USE THEM & AI IS TRAINED ON OUR WRITINGS! 2) "AI checkers" are complete bunk (just another AI bullshit machine), 3) this is not a "list of three" haha

Appeasing your abuser is a defense mechanism. It keeps them happy and calm so they don’t hurt you or others in that moment. It’s a brittle, forced peace that feels like you are living in a glass world that could shatter at any moment.

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

As much as radicals get criticized for being "unrealistic," demanding entire demographics facing literal genocide always maintain mild rhetoric and actions is an absolutely delusional level of conformity to expect. I don't think that gets said enough.

His underlings can get stuff done when it comes to *dismantling* things, because that's relatively easy. You just fire people until things break. But *constructing* a consolidated power center? That takes sustained focus and strategy. Which is impossible in this administration

One fun fact about overtired toddlers, THEY don't know what they need. They have an ever-changing list of demands and you can spend eternity trying to meet all of them and as it turns out, none of them will ultimately pacify the toddler for more than five seconds.

This exactly. They are all just babysitting an overtired, spoiled toddler who really just needs to go to bed. But they all go to jail if he goes to sleep so instead of getting anything done they just pivot the entire apparatus to indulging his ever-changing, half-assed whims

3/ blue. That’s not any strategy about consolidating autocratic power. It’s running in circles trying to support one of presidents weekly tantrums.
