I want to like Spire, but I really wish POC had written it instead. The mixing of racial resistance with "you're totally fucked and so is your cause" leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I know that wasn't the intent, and I really like RRD's games, but it just feels like a big oversight thematically

You do not have to personally like every person that you are in community with. if you want to do something important that takes a lot of effort and moving parts, you'll likely be in contact with people you don't like or vibe with. that's ok! you do not have to like or want to hang with everyone.
every D&D campaign I’ve been in but one has ended prematurely in DM burnout and tears and almost every non-D&D game has come to a satisfying conclusion and I don’t think the system is a coincidental factor in this
