They happen when people make mistakes. I’m glad to see the Mayor and his teams understand that to achieve Vision Zero we need to create city streets where no one is harmed when, inevitably, mistakes are made. “Too often there has been a culture on our roads where speeding, distraction and risky driving are treated as acceptable, when in reality they can have devastating consequences. It’s encouraging to see VZAP2 clearly challenge that way of thinking and recognise that changing the culture around driving has to be part of the solution. “I love the new ideas for ‘hospital zones’ and ‘evening streets’ building on the success of School Streets to reduce road risk and improve air quality. I’m pleased to see that side road zebras, reminding drivers to give way to people crossing, will also be piloted. I will continue my work on the Assembly to scrutinise his progress closely and ensure that every policy set out is followed through and fully implemented so we can end the trauma of road harm in our city.”

I spent my afternoon yesterday at an event centering women and resistance in Iran for International Women’s Day at SOAS. The trauma of the January attacks by the Iranian regime were rippled through the contributions by every woman who spoke. #IWD 🧵

UK drug laws are currently built on hypocrisy & the price is paid in preventable deaths. Greens want to take control of a market that exploits people, is violent & devoid of care. I worked on our policy in 2019 with grieving families, doctors, an ex undercover- cop...& I'll continue to back it.

Our drugs policy was written by @zoegarbett.bsky.social and others. She speaks clearly about harm reduction, preventing overdose and speaks with care, compassion and knowledge. People understand the war on drugs doesn’t work and that regulating supply reduces harm. Drown out Labour’s smears.

We need drug policy based on evidence not hypocrisy & refusal to learn from history. @lbc.co.uk covering Green Party drug policy - great contributions from callers explaining how legal regulation would work. I wrote the policy in 2019 & work to address drug harms and change our harmful laws.

1/15 The Labour Party are coming for the Green Party on drug policy. And they are doing it by sensationalising and mispresenting the policy. This is politics driven by focus group, that aims to smear and misinform at best - or lie and disinform at worst.
