No party campaigned on age verification. Nobody the US voted for this. Nobody the EU voted for this. Nobody the UK voted for this. Nobody in Australia voted for this. Some don't even know it's happening. Meta lobbied for this and got their way within a few years. Let this radicalize you.

Just like the Bsky team loves to manually label people who criticize them as rude to hide them from sight, I am sure they are going to treat the ability to label entire accounts as 'adult content' as an excuse to hide entire swathes of the site that upsets them, the auto-mods, and investors.

I know today's animation news is disappointing, but please don't use it as an excuse to give up on animation. That's what the tech bros want you to do. Keep making human made art, tell your favorite artists and indie creators that you like what they do, support those shows.

i think a lot of the backlash to "the male loneliness epidemic" narratives is that they're often disingenuous, they don't offer a solution and in the absence of that it's clear that the only thing they can mean is "women need to take responsibility for it by being less people"
