It rained today, which is really good, and climate change is bad. But, I did really like having a hot dry July compared to the usually mixed weather we get in July. I like high 20s/low 30s sunshine, the problem is climate change will keep things changing. It is not weather made to order.

Labour, Reform and the Conservatives are within five points of each other and would make for an unpredictable election campaign. This marks the fifth consecutive poll with the Conservatives at 22 per cent. The Liberal Democrats are now 7 points down from a peak in mid-2025.

Put differently: the Conservative Party should not be adopting candidates who pump out this kind of abusive material, whatever their history. That we have seen where this man can take that approach - and that he had to be jailed for it in the past - makes that especially important.

I was open-minded on this at first. I do believe in repentance, I think people can change, & I could see the logic of giving someone who was trying to do better a chance in local govt. But the evidence suggest that the abusive, persecutory mode of politics hasn't changed. He's just switched targets
