I am low key obsessed with salep, a Turkish drink I have never tried because the orchid it’s made from is endangered and hella expensive in the US. The orchid root has a lot of soluble fiber, and thickens up warm milk. Add some cinnamon, sweetener, and maybe a drop of rosewater, and you have salep.
I’ve seen a number of accounts going hard against El-Sayed for his bigotry, but they are remarkably light on specifics. Is there anything there? Or is it just a bigoted assumption about his name?
What is it with all the spam “film festival” accounts suddenly following me, a person who hasn’t seen any movie in _years?_
fwiw speaking as a formerly failed sock knitter, if you ever decide to try again, I recommend @kateatherley.bsky.social Custom Sock book. It made socks so much more approachable and satisfying to knit. I’m in the middle of a pair right now.

This is the pattern that always works because conservatives are very very dumb and will latch onto anyone who promotes hate.

In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.
Law enforcement, since they want to play soldier so bad, despite being too cowardly to go to the recruiters office, should be subject to the UCMJ. I’m willing to bet this would incarcerate or execute about 3/4ths of LEOs in the U.S. Reform is totally possible, but it’s gonna need to be brutal.

This is a very important distinction in the “fix yo’ feet” discussion, and helps explain why people are all over the map on what that even means. I’m on the barefoot/minimalist shoes _eventually_ side, but it’s easy to hurt yourself getting there and inappropriate for many!

I was going through some old papers earlier and sorting them into piles to file, scan, or shred, and it occurred to me that they were basically marry, fuck, kill piles.
