DOUBLY TRUE FOR MAINE: Do not take election results for granted. Do not take negative political ads as truth. DO your due diligence on Collins's voting record and grift. DO check your voter registration. DO #VOTE early. Organized money always wins - until organized people show up. #MEpolitics

It doesn’t matter what polls or the pundits say — we can’t afford to take anything for granted with the midterms as the regime threatens to sabotage this election. That’s why our organizers are busy bringing new voters into our coalition and recruiting more volunteers to protect the results.

“Maine has this history of welcoming refugees and asylum seekers... There’s a reputation here of a supportive community. People have settled here feeling this support, and now that's being pulled out from under them." ~Panagioti Tsolkas, MIRC maineindependentnews.com/politics/ice...

‘Afraid to go about their normal lives’: How ICE raids are harming Maine’s economy

James Myall, a policy analyst at the Maine Center for Economic Policy, said people are staying away from work, school and local businesses.

"It could chill rights of contractors to make political contributions" -- unearthed footage shows Susan Collins in 2012 fighting to protect contractors from having to disclose political contributions (we recently learned she was under investigation for a pay-to-play scheme involving a contractor)

It was the PAC's first expenditure since late August and it follows a recent report by ProPublica alleging that its chairman, Scott Reed, discussed concealing an illegal donation from a defense contractor to a different committee that backed Collins' 2020 reelection. https://bit.ly/4rIM3rQ

If Susan Collins didn't illegally coordinate with the super PAC run by her spouse's boss then the answer to the question is easy: 'There was no call. Period.' After all she had no way to know Kao gave the $$ unless the PAC told her! That they can't/won't say this gives the game away. #MEpolitics

PPH memoryholes Susan Collins camp's answer from the day before -- when her deputy chief of staff said Collins DID call Kao. (tinyurl.com/2pja4fhj) Beyond that, notice her team being careful not to outright *deny* a call. Trying to hedge in case evidence of a call surfaces. #MEpolitics

I already had severe concerns about how the military operated before I left the force a few years ago. Now those concerns seem minuscule compared to what we are seeing today. We need to stop and remove Hegseth. Vote for Troy Jackson so that Susan Collins can’t stop us from doing so. #mepolitics

Hegseth unveils Project Meridian, naming Musk, Palmer Luckey and Newt Gingrich to co-lead the effort under the department's Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael.

"An effort led by America's best minds to study the future of warfare."

And this is almost an aside in the story, but also absolutely bonkers. Meta claimed Zuck as a "researcher" to get a $355 million tax break on his $4.1 billion stock-based compensation.

Screenshot from New York Times article: "Meta is already in one sizable dispute with the I.R.S. over this tax break, for using it to subsidize its chief executive’s multibillion-dollar pay package. In 2013, Meta claimed that $4.1 billion of stock options exercised by Mr. Zuckerberg counted as a research expense because he helped invent new software, such as Facebook’s News Feed. The I.R.S. is trying to claw back the company’s resulting $355 million in tax savings, court filings show."

Today, Trump’s tariffs go into effect. Despite what Trump says, these sweeping tariffs will only hurt us— and all Collins can tell us is how concerned she is. Mainers need a Senator who will actually stand up to Trump and stop screwing over working people.

Here's Mary Ann Lynch popping up for a 'woman on the street' quote in an LA Times piece on Susan Collins in 2020. The unavoidable inference is that legacy media outlets let the Collins campaign choose who gets quoted in their stories. PR masquerading as journalism. Unforgivable. #MEpolitics
